Sydney Weekend FUN...!

Sydney Showboat

Yes we are on a boat...!!!

Sun going down on the Sydney Harbour

The Basement

Marty is home & we are off to Sydney to shop & play....... Friday night the Sydney Showboat...... yum yum yum the food is to die for, show very average but the view on the harbour – fringin’ awesome.

Saturday, first stop Paddy’s Market of course, then a wander around the city before getting ready to head to ‘The Basement’ to listen to a tribute to John Lennon. And we sing..... and sing, and sing some more......hehehe lalalalala Cheers....!!!

The next morning I woke up & wondered what the hell had happened to me – BED BUGS.....!!! OMG I looked like a ‘leper’. Good ol’ Marty bless him, raced off to the Pharmacy to get me an antihistamine & some cream....... & booked us into a fancy hotel on the way back. Ahhh now this is the life.....

The next day we caught up with my Dad & Sheilia. Sheilia & I walked around the markets at The Rocks (I found the coolest raincoat). Then joined them for lunch & quiet drink or two!

Now this should be – but is not the end of the story...... Back home a few days later I get a call from my Dad “Hope you don’t mind mate but a radio station is going to call you about your Bed Bugs..... They reckon that there are NO bed bugs in Sydney & I told them there is; did you not say you were bitten by bed bugs?” So an hour or so later I get the call from the radio station & confirm on Sydney radio that I was bitten by bed bugs while staying in Sydney....... Hmmm, only my Dad....!

Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite...!!!

Playing in the Whitsundays

Luxury Apartment overlooking the Ocean & on the Ocean Rafting Boat

Whitsundays.......

On returning I only had a day back in Brissy & then it was back on a plane up to Airlie Beach to spend 5 days in an luxury apartment (with not a spa bath but a spa pool in the middle of the bathroom, how cool huh?) overlooking the water with my Marty.

We had an awesome time Ocean rafting. When you have one fast boat you only have one fast boat, but what do you have when you have two fast boats – a race....... Whoo Hoo..... So Marty in his wisdom thought we should sit right at the front.... not the smartest move with me providing the entertainment screaming on almost every wave. I had bruises on my back by the end, but what a hell of a ride!

The next day we thought we would slow the pace down & went sailing around the islands on a Catamaran, and a spot of snorkelling.

Plus we had an awesome night out at the pub(s) with some of Marty’s work mate’s talking shit & dancing the night away.

Oh Whitsundays I want to come back to play.......

1st Visit Back to New Zealand.....

Soul at Raglan & the classic Raglan Pub

Mount Maunganui & the Huntly Power Station

Ahhhh the land of the long white cloud, no traffic & the cold brrrrrrr.......

Actually I was most fortunate with the weather, the mornings & nights were a little on the chilly side but the days were beautiful & sunny.

Catching up with friends & family was a highlight although very rushed as 9 days was just not long enough.........

The first couple of days of course are spent with my Mum..... What FUN it was to go through some of my belongings that I had left behind, it was like walking into Aladdin’s Cave, so much I had forgotten I owned?!! And yes my luggage was overweight coming home...!!!

A visit to Marty's Mum & Dad's had me packing up the last of our belonging's (not that there was much), ready to commit to a new life....... thanks Mum & Dad for your help with this.

A drive out to Raglan calling into my favourite shop ‘Soul’ to purchase a few of their awesome leather products (adding to my overweight luggage) including a pair of Marty’s favourite sandals, along with a wallet & an awesome black leather handbag for myself that was on sale. ( Love a bargain)

A quick trip over to an old stomping ground, Mount Maunganui to catch up with some old buddies & meet a new addition to the group, welcome to Parenthood my friends!

Then back to The Tron (Hamilton) to stay with my dear friend Julie at her country cottage, drinking green tea on the deck in the morning sun...... ahhhh bliss.....!

My friends...... the coffee, the wine, the lunch’s & the dinners, & most of all the conversation – much loved. Michelle thanks for braving the roads to meet with me in Hamilton.......Maree, yes we had to go SHOPPING, & Cathy I am still laughing at the rental car......bahahaha

I also picked up a couple of ‘Kiwi Kid’ must have's before departing NZ, a‘Mary-Lou doll for my Granddaughter Charlie & yes my Mum (Great Nana) got her a Busy-Bee.

As much as 9 days was not long enough, I was very happy to be back...... Aussie, Aussie, Aussie Oi Oi Oi!
